Hello everybody.
It hasn't quite been a year since the last newsletter, but it has been awhile. If
you'd like quicker news I do daily updates on Facebook, MySpace & Twitter. It's been a busy time.
We've finally replaced our old school bus on the lake with an actual structure, the
doing of which kept MaryAnn especially crazy busy all summer. You can see some photos at:
www.sfsite.com/charlesdelint/mah/new-cottage.html
We've also finally started recording our album. We're doing it at our friend Brock
Zeman's studio in Hopetown on the Clyde River. Most of the tracks are laid down with
Brock producing though we're hoping to get hold of two tracks that we recorded a few
years ago with the great fiddler James Stephens producing. You can see a couple of photos of the sessions here:

I had a new book out over the summer from Tachyon Press called
The Very Best of Charles de Lint. And now I finally have a new novel out which leads us to:
What's even better than launching a new book? That would be sharing the launch with
one of my own favourite writers. So I'm happy to announce that this Saturday I'll be
signing copies of my new book The Painted Boy in the company of Allison Van Diepen, author of Raven.
We'll be at:
Britton's Glebe
846 Bank Street
Ottawa, Ontario
(613) 237-6116
Saturday, November 27, 2010
1:00 - 3:00 pm
Buy a book, bring one you already have, or just drop by to say hello.
If you're not near Ottawa, maybe we'll see you at the Tucson Festival of Books in mid-March. We're
delighted to be returning to our favourite event of the year, where hundreds of authors and thousands
of readers get together. More info is available at:

Winter is almost upon us and this afternoon MaryAnn and I finished doing the last of the things we
needed to get done before the snows come. (Our pup Johnny couldn't even be bothered to supervise
this year; he just snoozed on the back of the couch.) I hope you're all ready for whatever change
the seasons bring you. I also wish our friends in America Happy Thanksgiving and a joyful holiday season.
Make merry, stay safe and take care of each other.
cheers
Charles
